question 7 idea

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product.

This question is asking me about what I have learnt in the space between filming my preliminary task and then filming my main task.

The way I will answer this question is by doing a podcast and talking about the different techniques that I have learnt and how I have then applied them to my main task.

question 6 idea

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

this question is asking me about the different pieces of technology that we used during the filming process and what we know about the technology that we used.

I will answer this question by doing a transcript about the different technologies that we have used and how much we know about the product.

question 5 idea

How did you attract/address your audience?
This question is asking me to find out how I would attract my audience to come and watch my film.

The way I would answer this question is by doing a vlog talking about how I would attract people into the cinema to come and watch my film.

question 4 idea

Who would be the audience for your media product?

This question is asking me to find out the target audience for film.

The way I would do this is by asking people that have just watched the film what they think the target audience is and how they figured out what the target audience was.

question 3 idea

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

This question is asking me to decide what film company might be interested in airing my film.

The way in which I will answer this question is by doing a power point presentation on the types of films that different film companies produce and which of those companies might be interested in airing my product/film.

question 2 idea

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

This question is asking me to explain what sort of social group my film might represent.

The way in which I will answer this question is by doing a Q&A with the hole cast of the film and see what type of social group the film represents.

question 1 idea

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
This question is asking me to evaluate my film and decide how similar it is compared to real media films but also how it is different real media films.

The way in which I can complete this question is by doing an interview with the director of the film and ask him how similar he thinks the film is compared to real films but also ask him how it differs to other films.

Sony records research

Sony

Ownership
Sony music are an extremely well known music label and a hugely successful and they have artists like James Arthur, Beyoncé, The Chainsmokers and Sia. The label also own lots of different music labels these include, Ministry of sound, Syco music which is Simon Cowell’s label, epic records, Columbia records, relentless and black butter records just to name a few. As well as music Sony are also in other businesses for example they own Sony electronics that sell televisions, projectors, headphones and many more. They also own PlayStation.
 Production
Sony records produce CD’S and Vinyl’s. They are developing there download system but the majority of the music they are in charge of is sent to streaming websites like Spotify, Dezzer and liked in TV. The total income for Sony just from music including publishing records and visual media was up 8% to 150.2bn yen ($1.49).
Marketing
Sony use a huge range of different marketing methods to make sure that all of their artists new albums get all the publicity they could possibly need. The first marketing method that they use is social media for example twitter, Facebook and Instagram. They use these platforms to promote the new albums of their artists.  They also use TV adverts to advertise their artist’s albums. Sony have not used there my space account since 2nd October 2008. Sony does have a YouTube channel and they upload videos off their artist’s new singles but also they do other type of videos with them like Q&A’s and other funny videos. The company have a record of doing promotional; TV adverts and press releases to let people know about up and coming gigs for their artists.  Sony currently owns a 75% share in Simon Cowells Syco records. They brought it for £86.5 million in January 2017.
Distribution and exchange
Some retailers do still sell CD’d of artists that are signed to the record label I’m looking at. For example, Sainsnbury supermarkets sell a range of CD’s from Sony signed artists. These prices range from £5.00 to £15.00. after looking at the website I can’t find any way to download singles or albums from. The main way to buy singles or albums from Sony signed artists is through I tunes and then download them on to your Apple product. Sony has a very big presence on Spotify with a huge number of there very successful artists amongst the top trending on Spotify.

how is disability shown in coming down the mountain

Coming Down The Mountain Disability Clip
Disability in coming down the mountain
In this essay, I, will be looking at how disability is portrayed through misse en-scene, sound, camera movement and angles and editing in the short clip that I watched form the TV show Coming down the mountain.

The first thing I’m looking at is misses en-scene. The first part of misses en scene that I noticed was that the kid with downs syndrome had a very messy room compared to his brothers which is very tidy and organised with just a few band posters on the wall. The fact that the disabled kids room is messy and very childlike represents disability is because it shows that disabled people’s minds don’t mature as quickly as people who don’t have a disability. The next thing that I noticed was the colours of the two boys room. The disabled boys side was very colourful while the boy who wasn’t disabled had a very dark themed room with lots of black and grey items in it. This represents disability because it shows that disabled people are very childlike and always happy. On the flip side, it shows that having a disabled brother can make you very upset and lead you to a dark state of mind and to a very dark place.

The second area I’m going to touch on is sound. The first area I’m looking at is the soundtrack/song that is on in the morning. The song that is playing in the background while the family is quite a cheery song but the whole family is unhappy and they are all a bit down about everything and the father gets so angry about the breakfast situation that he nearly starts an argument. The second area of sound I am going to talk about is dialogue. The areas where the disabled boy is talking. This represents disability because it shows that listening with a disabled person can be challenging and annoying as it takes them a long time to say what they want to say and it can be very hard to understand them and this can lead them to losing their temper.

The third are I will look at is camera angles and movement. The first shot that I noticed was a bird’s eye view. This is useful in the scene because it acts as an establishing shot and gives the viewers an idea about the room in which the two brothers are staying in. this represents disability because it’s the first time that the viewers get to see the difference between the disabled boys room and the boy who isn’t disabled side of the room. One shot that I really noticed was a medium shot when the disabled boy was on the bus coming home from school on his own because his brother had gone to a party.  This shot shows us just how vulnerable disabled kids can be when they are left on their own or have to do something on their own.

music questionnaire. Media coursework

I recently carried out a homework task in which I had to do a questionnaire with people my age and ask them for there top 3 recording music artists.

Music questionnaire

3.       Top 3 recording artists?

·         The Chainsmokers
4.       a paragraph explaining to what extent my album collection reflects a more niche or mainstream musical taste?

I would say that my album collection and the style of music that I listen too is varied and is I would say is quite well balanced. For example, I have new albums form artists like Drake, Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers, little mix just to name a few but I also have albums that aren’t trending right now but are a bit more old school for example I have the kook’s album which is 11 years old and I still listen to that on a regular basis.

Analysing My results

After looking at my results I have found that my top 3 recording artists are Drake, Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. This is no surprise to me as at this moment in time Drake Chris Brown and Justin Bieber are among the best artists in the world and are all dominating the uke and worldwide charts and you will probably hear at least one of these artists. Out of all my 11 artists 10 of them are signed by major record labels/companies with only stormzy who is still independent. This doesn’t not surprise me at all because all the artists and groups that were named are all hugely successful and therefore attract major record labels because they can earn them a huge amount of money and make them an even bigger record label. Out if the 12 artists named in my questionnaire none of them were niche artists. This is no surprise as people my age will mostly listen the mainstream radio stations and streaming sites so the main people that they listen will be well known and mainstream instead of niche and not so well known bands and artists. The majority of my cd and downloaded albums are mainstream acts and are also among the artists that my friends have named in the favourite artists.
